Automated Escalations

In the contract hierarchy, you learn that the contract can consist of different parts. You also now learn that the contract owner can assign the e-mail notification of activity related to the end date of the contract to another person (the stakeholder). This stakeholder will receive an e-mail in time with the right (task) information to make the right decision or perform the right action. Timely means before the end date of that activity has passed. 

But receiving the email with the associated task does not mean that the task owner will complete the task on time. The escalation process ensures that other stakeholders are notified in time if the task owner does not report its completion on time. And here, timely also means before it is too late. This mechanism is fully automated and can be configured by the administrator.
